Veterinary Nursing at the QMHA

The Queen Mother Hospital for Animals is one of the largest and most advanced veterinary hospitals in the world. The hospital is a purpose-built facility on our Hawkshead Campus near Potters Bar, Hertfordshire. This makes it within easy reach of London, the Home Counties and East Anglia.

Our Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) are key members of the multidisciplinary team delivering around-the-clock care to all patients and are central to the care and expertise we provide across our small animal hospital.

The nursing team is split into the following specialised areas:

  • Emergency and Critical Care
  • Theatre
  • Anaesthesia
  • Neurology and rehabilitation
  • Surgery wards including Ophthalmology, Soft tissue and Orthopaedics
  • Medicine including Iodine 131 ward , Endoscopy, Medicine, Cat ward and Isolation ward
  • Oncology
  • Dispensary
  • Blood Donor programme
  • Cardiology
