Veterinary Nursing London at the Beaumont Sainsbury Animal Hospital
The Beaumont Sainsbury Animal Hospital is the first opinion small animal teaching hospital for the Royal Veterinary College. Our modern Hospital, with spacious species specific clinical facilities, is located in the heart of London within walking distance of Camden Town, Euston, St Pancras and Kings Cross Stations. We provide all the services you would expect from a first opinion Hospital, including medical and preventative healthcare, neutering, diagnostic investigations, non-routine surgical intervention and also a wide range of nurse clinics and nurse led client services.
Our Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) are passionate about providing a high level of client and patient care, sharing knowledge with colleagues and students and are central to the care and expertise we provide across our hospital.
The nursing team is split into the following specialized areas:
- Theatre/Procedures – Duties include routine and non-routine theatre work, anaesthesia and surgical emergency and critical care
- Wards – Duties include medical emergency and critical care and peri-surgical care mainly in Cat ward, Dog ward and Isolation
- Clinics – Duties include conducting a full range of nurse consults, client facing services and dispensary work
- General Practitioners – Duties include utilisation of nursing skills in all aspects of our busy first opinion practice rotating between nurse clinics, theatre/procedures and ward shifts
- Nights – Duties include delivering out of hours care to medical and surgical patients and emergency and critical care cases
- Exotics – Duties include medical care, surgical nursing and anaesthesia of exotics patients in our dedicated exotic ward
