The Royal Veterinary College is the UK’s largest and longest-established independent vet school. As a world leading specialist veterinary and biological science research institution, the RVC brings together talented individuals; all of whom share a passion for human and animal health and welfare. 

We are now seeking a motivated and skilled Research Operations Manager to lead our newly created research operations team. This post is a critical role within the Research & Innovation Office (RIO), and the post-holder will play a vital part in the integration and performance of digital applications in support of our research and innovation activity. The post-holder will have opportunities to contribute to the strategic development and optimisation of RVC research management systems and applications. This role will also be a key interface between RIO and relevant Professional Services departments, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in the systems/operational support for RVC research and innovation activities. The post will have a strong focus on optimising efficiencies between business processes and IT systems, including the development of management information, data and insights to aid in decision making, improve service delivery and support external benchmarking exercises (e.g. REF/KEF).

This role is likely to appeal to candidates with a comprehensive understanding of research and innovation activities spanning costing, pricing, compliance, open access, contracting and commercialisation. Practical experience of supporting research management systems and the ability to communicate complex information to a range of audiences will be essential to succeed in this role.  This is an exciting time to join us, as we strengthen the team with a number of new posts created aligned to our new Research & Innovation Strategy.
