Casual - Weekend Patient Care Assistant

We now have a part-time Casual position working on an ad-hoc basis (potentially every Sunday and every 4th Saturday, depending on patient capacity) for a patient care assistant, working in the hospital alongside our dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurses and highly knowledgeable Vets. You will be primarily assisting in consultations to facilitate the smooth running of busy appointment blocks, holding patients for examination, maintaining stock and equipment in consult rooms and ensuring strict adherence and implementation of infection control policies and procedures.

Recent experience working in veterinary practice with confident animal handling skills for veterinary examination is essential.

The Beaumont Sainsbury Animal Hospital is the first opinion small animal teaching hospital for the Royal Veterinary College, located within walking distance of Camden, Euston and Kings Cross Stations. Our hospital is patient focused, making animal welfare a top priority. We hold numerous gold standard accreditations including for rabbit and cat friendly practice and we promote low stress handling for all patients.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop nursing support techniques, to experience a varied case load and get an understanding of work in a busy first opinion practice. We also provide exotics referral services, so experience in working with exotic & small mammal patients would be an advantage.
