We are looking for a postdoctoral scientist with interest and experience in muscle physiology, for a post to finish 30th Sept, 2021 (approximately 2 years).

The project will be to devise experiments and measure basic ex vivo / in vitro muscle properties (force, length, velocity, heat) from a diverse range of muscles and species, and to relate them to animal form and function, particularly with respect to weight support and gait.

Candidates should have a PhD (or equivalent) and experience in practical muscle physiology. It would be advantageous to also have a good knowledge of biomechanics principles at the whole-limb and whole-animal scales.

Career development opportunities include both training in less familiar disciplines and opportunity to pursue personal research interests within biomechanics. The successful candidate will integrate into a large biomechanics research lab, and contribute to a considerable diversity of world-class basic research.
