The Royal Veterinary College is ranked first in Europe and in the world. We are ranked top in the NSS, and receive consistently high ratings in the THE Student Experience Survey and the International Student Barometer. But we are determined to do more, and do better, to support and facilitate enhancement of learning and teaching and innovative methods of curriculum delivery.

We are looking for a full time Mental Health Practitioner to join our Advice Centre team. You will provide responsive, specialist case support to RVC students who are experiencing mental health difficulties. As part of this work you will build and maintain links with local GPs and NHS mental health services to establish close working relationships and facilitate referrals to these services when necessary. You will also provide training to colleagues and students on mental health issues and contribute to the ongoing development of Advice Centre policy, processes and delivery of initiatives around mental health as part of the wider mental health strategy of the College.

We are looking for positive, motivated candidates with a professional qualification in a relevant clinical or healthcare discipline.  An understanding of the support needs of students and knowledge and understanding of the workings of Student Services in Higher Education Institutions is desirable.

Informal enquiries on this role can be directed to Steve Short, Head of the Advice Centre at sshort@rvc.ac.uk

We offer a generous reward package.
