Shape the Student Experience.</strong></p><p>Every student deserves to be heard.</p><p>At the Royal Veterinary College Students&rsquo; Union (RVC SU), we believe students should play a meaningful role in shaping the decisions that affect their education and university experience. We&#39;re looking for an ambitious, relationship-focused and proactive Student Voice Coordinator to help make that happen.</p><p>This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of our student representation and voice work, supporting students to become effective leaders, advocates and change-makers.</p><p>Whether you&#39;re already working in a Students&rsquo; Union and looking for greater responsibility and strategic exposure, or you&#39;re a recently completed Sabbatical Officer ready to begin your professional SU career, this role offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in leadership development, governance, student engagement and institutional influence while making a genuine difference to students&#39; lives.</p><p><strong>What You&#39;ll Lead</strong></p><p>As our Student Voice Coordinator, you will:</p><ul><li>Lead and develop RVC SU&#39;s Academic Representative system, ensuring students can effectively influence their educational experience.</li><li>Recruit, train and support a network of Academic Representatives and student leaders.</li><li>Provide coaching and mentoring to student representatives, helping them build confidence, develop skills and represent their peers effectively.</li><li>Work closely with elected Officers, academic staff and senior university colleagues to ensure student priorities influence decision-making.</li><li>Coordinate democratic processes, including elections, feedback initiatives and student consultation activities.</li><li>Support campaigns and projects that address issues raised by students and improve the student experience.</li><li>Analyse engagement, feedback and representation data to identify key themes, produce reports and drive evidence-led improvements.</li><li>Develop opportunities for students to build confidence in leadership, negotiation, advocacy and influencing skills.</li><li>Build strong relationships with colleagues across the College and with external partners to strengthen student representation and engagement.</li></ul><p><strong>This Role Could Be Perfect for You If...</strong></p><ul><li>You&#39;re a Students&rsquo; Union professional looking for greater influence and exposure to strategic decision-making.</li><li>You&#39;ve recently completed a Sabbatical Officer role and want to continue improving students&#39; lives through a professional role.</li><li>You enjoy developing people, building relationships and seeing ideas turn into action.</li><li>You&#39;re motivated by helping students shape decisions and create positive change.</li><li>You want a role where you can combine leadership development, representation, engagement and project delivery.</li></ul><p><strong>About You</strong></p><p>We&#39;re looking for someone who can inspire others, build strong working relationships and create opportunities for students to make their voices heard.</p><p><strong>Essential</strong></p><ul><li>Experience of representation, advocacy, engagement or supporting students, members or communities.</li><li>Experience delivering training, workshops, mentoring or leadership development activities.</li><li>Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Confidence in building productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.</li><li>Ability to analyse information, identify trends and communicate recommendations clearly.</li><li>A proactive, solution-focused approach and commitment to inclusion and student empowerment.</li><li>Occasional flexible evening and weekend working to support key SU activities and events.</li></ul><p><strong>Desirable</strong></p><ul><li>Experience working in a Students&rsquo; Union, democratic organisation, membership body or higher education setting.</li><li>Experience managing student representation systems or engagement initiatives.</li><li>Knowledge of university governance, democratic structures or quality assurance processes.</li><li>Experience supporting elections, campaigns or advocacy projects.</li><li>Familiarity with the wider Students&rsquo; Union movement.&nbsp;</li></ul><p>If you&#39;re excited about the role but don&#39;t meet every requirement, we&#39;d still encourage you to apply.</p><p><strong>Why Join RVC Students&#39; Union?</strong></p><p>We&#39;re a small team with a big impact.</p><p>Our size means you&#39;ll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, take ownership of your work and see the direct outcomes of what you do.
