            <p id="isPasted">The Department of Pathobiology and Population Sciences invite applications for the role of Staff Pathologist/Lecturer in Veterinary Anatomic Pathology. The successful candidate will join a team of six anatomic pathologists and five anatomic pathology residents. The RVC pathology group is one of the largest academic pathology faculties in Europe and has an international reputation in specialist diagnostics, teaching, and research, with strengths including infectious diseases, farm animal pathology, and forensic pathology.&nbsp;</p><p>You should hold a degree in veterinary medicine recognised by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and have experience and expertise in veterinary pathology, with DipECVP, DipACVP or FRCPath certification, or eligibility to complete these qualifications. Experience in diagnostic anatomic pathology would be an advantage. The post is appointed within academic pay scales, commensurate with qualifications and experience, and includes a London Allowance and employer&#39;s contributions to pension scheme.             <p id="isPasted">We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic RVN to join our friendly multidisciplinary referral hospital providing the highest standard of nursing care for patients in the Theatre department of the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals.</p><p>As a theatre RVN you will work closely with our clinicians, residents, anaesthesia team, theatre assistants, sterilising technicians and students to provide a high standard of care for our patients. You will act as a circulating nurse to include managing surgical kit requirements, peri-operative imaging, record keeping and scrubbing into surgery to assist when required. You will also be involved in teaching and assessing veterinary students in theatre related skills. This role offers an excellent opportunity to advance your clinical skills in addition to developing your teaching skills in a supportive environment.</p><p>The successful candidate will have strong experience of working in a hospital or referral setting. You will be required to supervise and train both veterinary and veterinary nursing students so experience of being a Clinical Supervisor would be advantageous.</p><p>This is a full time position working 35 hours per week with a share of weekends and some on-call duties. Weekends are Saturday and Sunday on-call only, with protected time back in lieu the following week. You will contribute to performance oversight, legal and financial compliance, stakeholder engagement and advocacy for the RVC&rsquo;s mission.</p><p>As Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee, you will provide leadership in audit, assurance and risk management. You will set the Committee&rsquo;s work programme, oversee internal and external audit activity, review key risks, ensure high standards of governance and compliance, and report clearly to Council.</p><p><strong>About You</strong></p><p>We are looking for someone with:</p><ul type="disc"><li>Senior-level experience in finance, accounting or audit.</li><li>A recognised professional accounting qualification (strongly preferred).</li><li>Experience operating at board or committee level in complex organisations.</li><li>A strong understanding of risk management and assurance.</li><li>Excellent judgement, communication skills and the ability to provide constructive challenge.</li><li>A collaborative approach and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.</li></ul><p>Interest in higher education or the veterinary sector is desirable, as is experience in regulated or publicly accountable environments. &nbsp; The University particularly welcomes applicants who can help increase the gender and ethnic diversity of our Council.</p><p><strong>Time Commitment</strong></p><p>Council meets four times per year, and the Audit and Risk Committee meets three to four times per year. The total commitment is approximately <strong>10&ndash;12 days annually</strong>.             <p id="isPasted">We currently have a unique opportunity for a RVN to work part-time twilight hours (Fri-Sun 18:00 - 02:00) within our Emergency and Critical Care team.</p><p>Our multi-disciplinary hospital accepts a range of referral and first opinion cases. In addition to state-of-the-art facilities, we are the only recognised Level 1 Trauma Centre in Europe with extensive in-house laboratory capabilities and the support of our on-site transfusion service allowing us to provide the highest level of care to critically&nbsp;ill patients. As part of our Emergency and Critical Care team you will be working alongside our experienced specialised RVNs, Patient Care Assistants, students, residents, clinicians and interns to triage and care for patients during their stay in the department.</p><p>Your role will evolve, however you can expect to be triaging and supporting with the stabilisation of patients on arrival to the hospital, in addition to monitoring patients for minor procedures and caring for inpatients seen through our first opinion service.</p><p>Working hours will be 21 hours every weekend, Friday-Sunday working twilight shifts: 18:00-02:00.
