Positioned at the heart of the King’s Cross Knowledge Quarter, LBIC provides high-quality, fully serviced laboratory and office space, alongside integrated business support and access to scientific expertise, equipment and contract research capabilities through the RVC. With over two decades of experience in nurturing innovation, it serves as a dynamic hub within the UK life sciences ecosystem, fostering collaboration between academia and industry, and enabling companies to accelerate research, development, and commercialisation.

As Chief Executive Officer of LBIC and Chief Business Officer at the RVC, you will provide strategic leadership to drive LBIC’s growth in profitability, reputation, and operational excellence, while ensuring high-quality service delivery to clients and partners. This includes shaping and executing outreach strategies to engage key stakeholders across the life sciences ecosystem, supporting entrepreneurs and start-ups through business programmes and advisory input, and setting financial targets to increase net income and explore expansion opportunities. The position also involves strengthening the relationship with the RVC by leveraging its academic and scientific capabilities, enhancing student and staff engagement, and reporting on performance metrics.

The role requires a strong academic foundation in a biomedical discipline, coupled with significant experience in business innovation environments, facility management, and commercial financial management within the life sciences sector. Excellent communication and networking skills are essential, with the ability to influence stakeholders and maintain relationships across investors, developers, advisors, and entrepreneurs. Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities are critical, including experience in market analysis, long-term planning, and the development of business plans, funding proposals, and reports.

If you would be interested in exploring this opportunity further, please contact Coulter Partners who are working with the London Bioscience Innovation Centre on this key hire, ideally including your CV, at LBIC@Coulterpartners.com.
